FIELD: machining of parts. SUBSTANCE: method involves machining by abrasive wheel, whose semi-chord, defining segment with height equal to allowance for coarse grinding, exceeds the length of surface to be machined; positioning part below abrasive wheel at coarse grinding stage in fixed position so that its front edge is offset from vertical plane of symmetry of abrasive wheel, extending through its axis of rotation, for predetermined distance. Cutting-in is performed by imparting vertical motion to abrasive wheel till generatrix of abrasive wheel disposed in above mentioned plane of symmetry, reaches coordinate of finished part. Simultaneously cutting-liquid supply nozzle is displaced, with abrasive wheel vertical motion speed and nozzle motion speed being equal. At fine grinding stage part is displaced in the direction perpendicular to vertical plane of symmetry of abrasive wheel.
