FIELD: measuring instruments.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technical condition diagnosing of precision gyroscopes having gas-suspended rotors and it may be used in assembly and operation of gyroscopes in inertial navigation systems. A method consists in determining a delta between rotor rundown time in the course of testing and rotor rundown time after installation of the rotor and its bearings. If this time delta exceeds an acceptable value, it indicates the presence of a defect in the bearings.

EFFECT: improving the diagnosing accuracy by recording variations in the condition of bearings.
