FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves melting basalt in furnace basin; feeding melt to feeder zone of production; producing filament through feeder; drawing through spinnerets; oiling and winding filaments on bobbins. Basalt is molten at temperature gradient of dT/dH=1-3, where T is temperature, H is feeder height. Further heating of melt in production zone is effectuated through shields made from material having melting temperature exceeding 1350 C. Shields are mounted in upper and lower parts of feeder in spaced relation, with space being equal to 1/2-1/3 of feeder width. In the process melting mixing is effectuated at the speed of 0.5-1 rev./sec. EFFECT: increased efficiency and high quality of filaments. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
