FIELD: jewelry art. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns preparation of colored beryl crystals for use in jewelry industry. For this purpose, a blend contains, %: beryl with magnesium and calcium fluorides, 52.5-65; aluminium fluoride, 3-10; and chromophor metal oxide, 0.5-2.0. It is melted and kept at 1220-1250 C for 12-24 h, whereupon temperature drop between dissolving zone of beryl at 1170-1250 C and crystal growth zone (growth velocity 1-3 C a day) at 950-1000 C is created. EFFECT: improved procedure. 1 tbl
