METHOD OF SYNTHESIS 9-SUBSTITUTED GUANINE DERIVATIVES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: product: 9-substituted derivatives of guanine of the general formula (I): where: R - C₁-C₄-alkyl, benzyl or -(CH₂)_n-OR₁ where: n = 0,2; R₁ - -CH₂CH₂OH,. Reagent 1: 1-substituted 5-(thiocarbamoyl)-amino-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide of the general formula (III): where: R - as indicated above. Reagent 2: hydrogen peroxide. Conditions: in an aqueous alkaline medium, at 0-30 C, in the presence of tungstate ions as catalyst. Compound of the formula (I) is isolated by treatment with acid. Synthesized compounds were used as antiviral agents and as intermediate reagents for drugs synthesis. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
