FIELD: equipment of melting units, jackets in particular, designed for cooling their walls and arches working under conditions of high temperatures and aggressive media. SUBSTANCE: jacket is secured in walls and arches in such position that its copper plate 2 is directed towards working zone of furnace by surface provided nickel chromium coat 6. Cooling agent - water continuously flows to header 9 through branch pipe 7 and then to channels 4 and escapes through branch pipe 8. Jacket is made from copper and steel plates welded together. Channels 4 are preliminarily made on copper plate 2 at optimal ratio of width to depth of 1:0.7 forming finned surface 5. Its reverse surface is first coated with electrolytic layer of nickel, 5 to 10 mk thick and then with layer of chromium, 30 to 40 mk thick. After placing soldering alloy on surface to be soldered together and assembly of jacket, it is soldered in shielding medium at temperature of 1000<$E+->10 C for 30 to 40 min. EFFECT: avoidance of overheating of copper plate of jacket and its burn out for an extended period of time.
