FIELD: applied meteorology, in particular, elimination of fog and cloud formations above airports, sea and river ports, highways and agricultural lands. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing wire above ground surface; supplying direct current through wire to induce corona discharge; generating electrically charged particles. Prior to supplying direct current, alternate current is supplied to wire for heating it to temperature of at least 100 C, which is less than melting temperature of wire material by 2-3 times. Direct current is supplied upon heating of wire to temperature at least equal to 100 C. During generation of electrically charged particles heating temperature is maintained by alternate current. EFFECT: increased efficiency and wider fields of application.
