FIELD: type II pulse-width modulators using comparison of control and alternating sweep signal. SUBSTANCE: method involves generation of two pulse sequences for one of which modulation of pulse width is achieved by position of trailing edges; modulation of pulse width in second sequence is achieved by position of leading edges. One of these sequences is sent to output of modulator depending on sign of derivative of control signal. This results in symmetry and maximal possible speed of pulse reaction to alternations of control signal independent of its speed. Goal of invention is achieved by keeping conditions in which sweep and control signals alter in opposite directions in any moment. This method is useful for large amplitudes and alternation rates of control signal. EFFECT: increased bandwidth without speedup of modulation frequency and corresponding drop in power characteristics. 5 cl, 11 dwg
