PIPE INNER SURFACE CLEANER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; power engineering; cleaning of condenser pipes from solid carbonate deposits. SUBSTANCE: device has roller heads in form of truncated cones secured on end face part of housing at angle to pipe surface. Head rollers cut screw grooves in deposit layers 9, deepen the grooves and make them wider as device is moved along pipe. To remove deposits from valleys of wavy surface of pipe, special rolling device is secured on shank of housing 1. This device consists of holders 4 and 5, fixed and axially movable ones, and provided with conical end face surfaces, and balls placed between holders for free rotation when device is moving. Balls 6 are constantly pressed to surface of pipe by means of movable holder 5 by spring 7 whose other end is in constant contact with adjusting nut 8 arranged on threaded part on of housing shank. Removed deposits are evacuated from pipe space by pressure stream of water. EFFECT: provision of reliable cleaning of pipes with wavy inner surfaces. 2 dwg
