FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: adamantane is chlorinated with carbon tetrachloride and rhodium catalysts such as Rh(PRh3)3Cl2, [Rh(HBD)Cl]2 wherein NBD is norbornadiene, [Rh(CO)2Cl]2, Rh4(CO)12 at 150-200 C for 5 h at adamantane; rhodium salt: carbon tetrachloride molar ratio of 1:(0.005-0.01): (1.5-5). Yield of the final product is as high as 89-92% at complete adamantane conversion. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 2 cl, 23 ex, 1 tbl
