FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: method of metering out of fuel for fuel-air mixture delivered into interval combustion engine at its starting includes the following steps: checking for rise in rotational frequency which should lie within preset range until final condition of control is fulfilled; if this requirement is not met, changing of accumulated correction value for correcting amount of fuel (ti) found depending on operating condition of engine to provide mixture capable of igniting in required manner which, being combusted, provides rise of rotational speed within preset range. EFFECT: provision of reliable starting of engine in those cases when car fuel system orientated for operation on high grade fuel is filled with low grade fuel. 10 cl, 5 dwg
