FIELD: forestry engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves setting fire on soil surface layer along the marked burning-out zone boundary using wick-and-drop type apparatus operated by the first operator. The initial brand zone reaching the burnt strip of 1-5-2 m in width, the second operator equipped with manual blower directs the air flow, which speed is 30-40 m/s, to the back edge of the burning zone. Aerodynamical flame-out takes place as a result of these actions and glowing fragments of combustible material turns out to be carried away to the burnt-out zone. After suppressing burning on the back edge, The operator sends air flow to the frontal one. Flow speed in this edge area is equal to 10-12 m/s being optimum for exciting flame in this zone. EFFECT: higher performance of the method; one operator required for exciting and suppressing burning-out flame.
