FIELD: clarification of process water contaminated with insoluble finely-dispersed suspensions; clarifying plants of hydraulic mines, colaconcentrating mills and complexes for hydraulic cleaning of open wagons from loose material residue. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in continuous gravitational settling in horizontal settlers. Clarification of water is carried out in two stages: at first stage, water is passed through system of alternating transversal partitions of settler; one row of partitions shuts-off flow of water from settler bottom at height more than half depth of settler and other row of partitions mounted between partitions of first row shuts-off flow of water from upper level of settler to depth more than half depth of settler, thus forming zigzag flow of water. At second stage water is directed to second horizontal settler divided into two passages by longitudinal partition with water overflow for distributed discharge of clarified water to technical process.
