FIELD: processes and equipment for making honeycomb member such as carrying body of catalyst of several assembled at least to one pack and partially structured metallic sheets. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of assembling several at least partially structured metallic sheets at least to one pack having passages between layers; placing pack into form where it is hold in central zone by means of twisting attachment. The last may rotate around central axis being simultaneously winding axis. Twisting attachment includes at least two winding mandrels arranged in parallel relative to central axis and passing along passages. In central zone of pack mandrels act upon respective outer surface of pack. Twisting attachment also includes positioning members at least partially introducing to said passages. Pack is twisted by coiling it until achieving predetermined twisting degree. During such procedure mutual arrangement of structures of metallic sheets formed at twisting process in central zone of pack remains stable. Apparatus for performing the method includes form and twisting attachment. Inner contour of form corresponds to outer contour of honeycomb member. EFFECT: improved design allowing to eliminate deformation of walls of packs. 10 cl, 6 dwg
