FIELD: deep peripheral grinding of material having trend occurring flaws such as burnouts and microcracking, namely, grinding parts with use of heat flux directed into part. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by means of grinding wheel in the form of abrasive discs mounted on common mandrel with axial gap one relative to another and inclined to plane normal relative to rotation axis. Method comprises steps of imparting rotation to grinding wheel and moving it relative to blank. It is possible to change inclination angle α, gap Z between abrasive discs and quantity N of abrasive discs. In description of invention formula is given for determining gap in depending upon quantity of abrasive discs of buildup grinding wheel, height of abrasive disc, oscillation amplitude of cutting zone and coefficient depending upon temperature reduction in cutting zone. EFFECT: stable grinding modes, enhanced vibration proofness, lowered thermal stresses at grinding process due to oscillation of intermittent cutting zone. 2 cl, 6 dwg, 1 ex
