FIELD: methods of producing optical calcite single crystals. SUBSTANCE: single crystals of optical calcite are produced by hydrothermal method including heating and recrystallization of calcium carbonate on seed from mixed solution of lithium halide and ammonium halide at temperature drop. Seed is used in the form of calcite plates oriented parallel to face of pinacoil (0001) with ratio of concentrations of lithium halide to ammonium halide in solution (2-): 1, respectively. Optical calcite single crystals are widely used as material for light polarization, beam divergent members, quick-operating laser gates and other optical devices. EFFECT: high-quality optical crystal material the most advantageous for manufacture of optical parts. 1 tbl, 1 ex
