FIELD: organic chemistry, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to derivative of carboxylic acid with condensed rings of the general formula (A) and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts designated for preparing medicinal agents that are effective agonists of retinoic acid receptors. In the mentioned-above compound of the formula (A) symbol means a single or double bond; each of X, Y, Z, P, Q, U, V and W means -O-, -S- or group of the formula (a) where Rk (k is a whole number = 1-8) means hydrogen, halogen atom, possibly substituted lower alkyl or similar group; one of R7 or R8 means group of the formula (b) where A and B are independently each of other possibly substituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring or unsaturated heterocyclic ring; D means possibly protected carboxyl group. New compounds show agonistic activity with respect to retinoic acid receptors. EFFECT: valuable properties of compounds. 18 cl, 2 tbl, 198 ex
