FIELD: test of protection of material of current- conducting structure against electrochemical corrosion, specifically, of underground steel pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: procedure includes action of periodic pulse current on metal underground structure, measurement of potentials U1 and U2 of structure and of potential gradients ΔU1 and ΔU2 in ground correspondingly before and after action of pulse current. Values of polarization potential is calculated by formula Up = U2-ΔU2•(U2-U1)/ΔU2-ΔU1. EFFECT: diminished error of measurement of polarization potential, enhanced convenience and simplicity of operation in the field over entire extent of metal underground structure. 1 dwg
