FIELD: production of refractory materials for important areas of lining of steel-making units, steel-pouring units and other metallurgical units. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of iso-thermal composition of metal-ceramic type consisting of at least two components selected from Al, Mg group their alloys, B, Ti, Si, TiO2, TiB2 and B4C; compounds B, Ti, Si, TiO2, TiB2 and B4C are introduced simultaneously with carbon- containing material at initial stage of mixing and Al, Mg or their alloy is introduced after additional of all components; heat treatment is performed first in drier at temperature of 150-200 C and then in heat- treating furnace at temperature of 500-1300 C or directly in lining of thermal unit. Preparation of refractory materials in accordance with proposed method ensures forming of matrix resistant to oxidizing and action of metal-slag melt. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 tbl, 6 ex
