FIELD: nuclear physics, development of digital diagnosing equipment registering charged particles and gamma quanta. SUBSTANCE: detector of ionizing radiation presents two working volumes made of gallium arsenide. One side of each working volume carries electrodes produced in the form of identical strips of uniform step. Strips of second working volume are so connected to strips of first working volume that become their continuation. Electrodes displaying form of solid layer occupying entire area under strips, each electrode being coupled to source of voltage of same value but opposite polarity. Working volumes are placed in symmetry with plane passing perpendicular to direction of strips and equidistantly from it. EFFECT: reduced dark current. 1 dwg
