SUBSTANCE: plant includes mold with two paired vertical walls and two paired walls having inclined upper and vertical lower portions, n electrodes (n = 2 - 4) arranged in pairs in inclined portion of cover strips connected to system for automatic switching of electric current at different time moments. Relation of width of wall b having inclined upper portion to width b1 of electrode b/b1 = 0.85 - 0.95. Relation of thickness values a1 + a2 of two bands introduced into mold to distance a3 between vertical lower portions of two paired walls with inclined upper portion (a1 + a2)/a3 = 1.05 - 1.4. Preferably, layer of electrically non-conductive material such as ceramic is placed on end surfaces of walls with inclined upper portion. Said layer has thickness b2 at relation b2/b = 0.01 - 0.05.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of blank, improved strength of bimetallic joint of blank, high operational reliability of plant.
