FIELD: methods of diagnosing technical condition of closed cavities.

SUBSTANCE: according to the method the vessel is loaded with internal pressure by means of applying medium under pressure into the vessel. Before applying pressure to vessel to be diagnosed, temperature of vessel is subject to measurement, then medium is heated to temperature exceeding temperature of surface of vessel for value being equal or higher than IR resolution of IR imager, or cooled till temperature being lower than temperature of surface of the vessel for value which higher than thermal resolution of IR imager. After vessel is loaded with excess internal pressure, temperature field of its surface is registered by means IR imager and temperature field is subject to analysis. Presence of defects and necessity of repair are judged from availability of anomalies in temperature field. Satisfying condition of vessel can be report if there are no anomalies.

EFFECT: increased reliability of detection of defects.
