FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed gas-discharge reflector lamp has ellipsoidal bulb that accommodates combustion lamp mounted on current lead; at least half the inner surface of bulb is coated with reflecting layer so that plane passing through its longitudinal edges is parallel to longitudinal axis of combustion lamp. Transverse edges of reflecting layer are disposed in area bounded by bulb neck and bowl on cross-sections at points where bulb neck and bowl turn to ellipsoidal part; plane passing through longitudinal edges of reflecting layer is spaced H distance apart from bulb axis and disposed within 0.04 - 0.11 of bulb maximal diameter D. Combustion lamp is mounted so that ratio of distance between its axis and closest surface of reflecting layer 1 to that between combustion lamp axis and reflecting layer edge L on longitudinal section in cross-sectional area passing through center of bulb ellipsoid is between 0.56 and 0.68 and at least one current lead is disposed between combustion lamps and reflecting layer in longitudinal symmetry axis.
EFFECT: reduced cost and enhanced quality of lamp.
