SUBSTANCE: invention concerns instrumental engineering and can be applied in plant irradiation. The lighting device includes a light source screened with a deflector. The light source itself includes a burner and an external bulb, start-control device and radiation redistribution device. The reflector in the vertical plane of lamp longitudinal axis has round form of radius R, 3.4 to 8.2 lamp bulb length (L_b) long. The distance l_c between the reflector and the bulb centre in its upper part is 0.033 to 0.038 bulb length L_b. The reflector overlaps the lamp bowl for the distance L₊ of 0.105 to 0.122 bulb length L_b.
