FIELD: experimental nuclear physics.

SUBSTANCE: detector comprises pressure-tight housing filled with gas mixture at atmospheric pressure and having two gas spaces separated with anode interposed between two amplifying grids and two cathodes made of a metal foil. The anodes, cathodes, and grids are parallel one to the other. The cathodes represent inlet and outlet ports. The anode is multi-layered. One side of the load-bearing film is provided with a layer for converting neutrons covered with a thin dielectric layer. Two layers of aluminum signal ways are applied from the side of converting layer and anode. The ways are separated with dielectric ways. The ways of the first layer are perpendicular to the ways of the second layer.
