FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, preparing of blast furnace tuyeres for operation.

SUBSTANCE: method involves applying aluminum-containing coating onto outer surface of flange-free tuyere using metallizing gun movable at constant velocity from one edge to another edge relative to tuyere rotating at constant angular velocity, with rotational velocity of tuyere and velocity of metallizing gun being selected so as to provide thickness of coating below 0.1 mm per one pass and overlap adjacent coils for 0.5-0.7 the width of metallization strip; providing metallized coating having thickness of at least 0.2-0.3 mm; heating tuyere at heating rate below 100 C/hour for performing thermal processing.

EFFECT: improved quality of diffusion layer and reduced consumption of material to be deposited.
