FIELD: technology of production of foamed metals which are used as structural materials in mechanical engineering and construction engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in preparation of melt of metallic alloy and introduction of porophore in form of porophore-containing particles of auxiliary alloy into this melt. Auxiliary alloy is prepared preliminarily from main constituents of metallic alloy and porophore. Composition of auxiliary alloy is so selected that its melting point should be below temperature of intensive decomposition of porophore. Melt thus obtained is sprayed and particles of semifinished product are cooled down.
EFFECT: high quality of semifinished product and consequently enhanced quality of foamed metal due to reduced losses of gas by porophore.
