FIELD: continuous casting processes and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: mold includes four working walls with ducts for cooling fluid. First pair of walls is made with possibility of motion and it has inclined upper and vertical lower portions. Second pair of walls is made with possibility of reciprocation motion. Inclined portions of walls are cooled by means of water-air mixture; vertical portions are cooled by means of heating zones of high temperature heat pipes. Heating zones of heat pipes are mounted by tight fit in lower vertical portion of walls of first pair. Ribbed cooling zones of heat pipes are arranged in upper portions of walls with annular gaps. Relation of diameter D1 of duct in upper portion of wall to diameter D of duct of lower vertical portion of wall D1/D = 1.1 - 1.2.
EFFECT: improved quality of blanks.
