SUBSTANCE: said utility invention relates to the field of metallurgy and may be used during manufacture of blast furnace air tuyeres. The method involves shot blasting of the tuyere nozzle, its external cup, and a weld connecting them. An aluminium-containing gas-thermal coating is applied on the treated surface and annealing is carried out. Before shot blasting of the tuyere, the protruding part of the weld between the tuyere nozzle and the external cup is ground off to a remaining depth of no more than 1.0 mm. The side surface of the weld is chamfered at the side of the tuyere nozzle and the external cup. The use of the invention increases the tuyere resistance.

EFFECT: increased resistance of furnace tuyere.
