FIELD: metrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology and can be used for measuring fluid level at filling stations. The level measuring method consists in gathering and processing the data on two time-separated 2D-images of two laser beams crossing the measured level surface and the interface level surface. To produce the first image, lasers are arranged perpendicular to the measured level plane and parallel to each other, while to produce the second image, they are placed at a certain angle between themselves. The data obtained allows calculating appropriate levels. The device to measure fluid level incorporates a TV camera connected, via a communication channel, to a digital computing device. Also, the said device includes two lasers linked with the laser control mechanism and optically coupled with the digital computing device, and the laser turn angle pickup linked with two support elements accommodating the lasers attached thereto and electrically connected to the digital computing device, in its turn, connected with the laser control device.
EFFECT: higher reliability, expanded range of performances because of using lasers to measure interface level.
