In the method for measuring the parameters of bulk materials in tanks by obtaining an image with a camera mounted above the surface of the material being measured and hermetically separated from it by an optically transparent element, and a measuring scale applied to the side wall of the tank, in addition in the center of the lid, is installed over the second, optically transparent element of the laser range finder, sealed from the bulk material, so that the optical axis of the rangefinder laser coincides with the axis of symmetry of the reservoir, wherein the measurement scale is made in the form of a set of LEDs, which are coated with a dust-repellent transparent film, while the laser ranging is switched on during the measurement, LEDs and a digital video camera are turned on, after which the distance from the lid to the surface of the bulk material is determined by the distance-measuring laser, and using the measuring scale and the signal from the video camera determine the distance h2 from the tank cover to the point lying on the measuring scale of the area of intersection of the surface of bulk material with the surface of the tank, and the volume is calculated by the formula.

EFFECT: simplified method and increased accuracy of control.
