FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to radio electronics, in particular to microwave electrovacuum devices intended for generation of ultrashort electric pulses with ultrahigh repetition frequency and can be used for instance in radio location, counterradio measures and in other fields of engineering. The device contains electron gun, multi-cavity electron buncher with microwave energy input, device for conversion of electron energy (EECD) into microwave energy, microwave energy output in the form of coaxial transmission line and electron collector. EECD is made as half-wave coaxial resonator internal and external hollow conductors of which are separated by high-frequency (HF) gap located near buncher. Collector is located in the hole of resonator external conductor at the side of HF gap. Near the buncher between internal and external conductors of resonator dielectric bushing is installed which is leak-tightly connected with them. Coaxial line of microwave energy output is located coaxially to resonator at its external side.
EFFECT: length decrease and height increase of microwave signal electric voltage pulses while keeping superhigh frequency of pulses repetition, and design simplification and ease of tuning.
