FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to registration of ionising radiations, detection of ionising radiation sources at checkpoints, railway and airport terminals, customs posts etc. The ionising radiation prismatic detector features scintillating elements representing equilateral triangle-section rods in a row in parallel and back-to-back. Note that, between their apexes, there is a similar row of triangular-section rods and, in parallel and in mirror-like manner, another two rows of rods are arranged.
EFFECT: rapid determination of charged particle coordinates.
