DIAGNOSTIC METHOD OF VESTIBULAR DYSFUNCTION Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B3/00 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2357646 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to otorhinolaryngology and may be used in preventive therapy and neurology in diagnostics of vestibular dysfunction. To diagnose vestibular dysfunction the following criteria are evaluated according to the questionnaire listed in the description: physical (PH) and psychiatric (PH) health, mental activity (MA), interpersonal relationships (IR), risk factors (RF), index of the general onset of vestibular disorders (IO), index of vestibular (VD) and hearing (HD) disorders. Received answers to the questions of the questionnaire are assigned scores. Whereat "always" corresponds to 4 scores, "almost always" - 3 scores, "sometimes"- 2 scores, "almost never" -1 score, "never"- 0 scores. Consequently, integrated index of vestibular disorders is calculated from the expression: II=FH+PH+MA+IR+RF+IO+VD+HD. Values. II=0-39 correspond to zero degree of vestibular disorders - absence of disorders; II=40-79 corresponds to the first degree of the vestibular dysfunction - moderate - expressed disorders; II=80-119 corresponds to the second degree of the vestibular dysfunction - pronounced disorders, II values of 120 scores and more correspond to the third degree of vestibular dysfunction - severe disorders.

EFFECT: method enables detection of the degrees of vestibular dysfunction, thus increasing accuracy of diagnostics of vestibular dysfunction and improving efficacy of the conducted therapy.
