FIELD: physics; optics.
SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, there is a diode structure between contact layers of the solar cell. In the diode structure there are series-formed base absorbing layer made from a semiconductor of given conductivity type, a multilayer structure consisting of layers of nanoobjects made from material with band gap less than that of the base material, and layers of base materials (spacers) separating the layers of nanoobjects, and a layer of semiconductor with conductivity type different from the one given. The contact layers are solid and are made from Al which repeatedly reflects radiation transmitted to the solar cell under an angle to the plane of the contact layers. A second version of the solar cell - a multi-element multilayer solar cell is also proposed.
EFFECT: due to repeated reflection of absorbed radiation by contact layer, the optical path of photons increases, probability of their absorption increases and efficiency increases as a result.
