FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-(1-adamantyl)acetamide, which is a precursor of biologically active amines, having antibacterial and antiviral activity and used for treating and preventing influenza, herpes, pneumonia etc. Method is realised by reacting 1-bromoadamantane with acetic acid amine using a catalyst in a form of manganiferous compounds, such as MnCl2, MnBr2, Mn(OAc)2, Mn(acac)3, Mn2(CO)10. Reaction is carried out at temperature of 120-130°C during 2-3 hours, with molar ratio [1-bromadamantan]: [acetamide]: [catalyst] = 100:150÷200:1÷3.
EFFECT: simple technique of producing N-(1-adamantyl)acetamide and low cost due to use of cheap catalyst in a small amount.
