METHOD TO ESTIMATE FUTURE MILK PRODUCTIVITY OF HEIFERS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A01K67/02

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to livestock farming. Method consists in the fact that phenes taken into account are represented by index of weight prenatal early maturation of animal calculated by the following formula: WPEMI=T/W₀, where: WPEMI - weight prenatal early maturation index; T - duration of animal prenatal development, days; Wo - live mass of calf at birth, kg, at that heifers with index below 10.2 are related to prenatal early mature, with value of 10.2-12.0 - to prenatal medium mature, and with WPEMI index of 12.1 and higher - to prenatal late mature ones. Final selection of good-milking animals for stock-breeding purposes is made with account of genotypical index - level of triiodothyronine in blood of prenatal early mature heifers at the age of 3 months provided this hormone content in their blood exceeds average indices of triiodothyronine in blood serum of their peers by 0.3 and more ng/ml.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to forecast milk productivity of cows at early stages of postnatal development.
