FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises applying preset thickness coat on one of the surfaces of metal carrier, a flat rectangular plate, or metal tube by electron beam method. Produced specimen is placed in vacuum chamber to be evacuated and heated to operating temperatures. Said specimen is heated by electric current passed through metal carrier, and specimen temperature changes are registered by thermocouple arranged on its surface. Heatproof coat temperature change is recorded by remote registrator, for example, pyrometer arranged on heatproof coat side. Measured temperatures are used to determine thermal characteristics, e.g. thermal conductivity, heat capacity and temperature conductivity.
EFFECT: reduced error in measuring temperature change in structured heatproof coat.
