FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention may be used for high-accuracy determination of various physical properties of fluid and gases in tanks and carried by pipelines. Proposed method comprises exciting fixed-frequency electromagnetic waves in section of long line with terminal load resistor made up of sensitive element, generating standing electromagnetic wave and placing substance to be controlled in electromagnetic field of load resistor. In compliance with this invention, standing wave intensity minimum is preset in fixed cross section of long line section at some rated value of controlled substance physical property. In measurement, excited electromagnetic field frequency is varied to standing wave intensity minimum in said fixed cross section of long line. Substance physical properties are defined by the magnitude of said frequency.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measurements.
