FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and aims at perfecting diesel locomotives. In compliance with proposed method, shaft rpm of heat engine driving AC traction generator is set, and position of rack incorporated with rpm regulator fuel feed and heat engine load metre is measured. Fuel feed metre position setting is set to be compared to measured position, AC traction generator is measured to be compared with said setting and mismatch revealed is used to vary AC traction generator excitation voltage. Functional dependence of preset heat engine shaft rpm in acceleration is selected as linear function of time for its to be compared with actual heat engine shaft rpm. Measurement result is normalised and summed with AC traction generator power setting. Summing result is used to adjust AC traction generator power.
EFFECT: higher efficiency in upgrading.
