SUBSTANCE: method of determining coating thickness during plasma-electrolytic oxidation involves measuring radiation energy during the coating process. EFFECT: possibility of determining coating thickness during plasma-electrolyte oxidation owing to use of an information-bearing radiation band lying in the visible range, and reduction of power consumption by avoiding overexposure.
