FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fish industry and may be used in food industry, fodder industry, farm industry and other fields. The biologically active natural origin composition includes chitin/chitosan in an amount of 21.4-43% (of the dry shell substance weight), proteins in an amount of 36-42%, remainders of shell substances mineral components in an amount of 5-10.6%, fats and astaxanthin carotenoid in an amount of 10-18% of the raw material used, moisture content equal to 6-8%. The biologically active composition is produced from shell-containing shellfish wastes; shellfishes are taken at a specific development stage, in particular, at the development stage preceding peeling. The composition has natural chitin/chitosan properties: selective sorption capacity i.e. formation of complexes with mixed valence metals (heavy, rare earth metals), halogens and various poisons, with the capacity of their excretion from the organism; radioactive elements sorption combined with the biopolymers resistance to γ-radiation impact; inertness; nontoxicity; moisture- and air permeability; antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antiallergenic activity; biocompatibility with living organisms tissues; biodegradability; capability allowing to accelerate regeneration processes during tissue epulosis and joints recovery; capability allowing to bind cholesterol, fatty, bile acids, excrete them from the organism to prevent atherogenesis, cardiovascular diseases, adiposity; capability allowing to enhance anticancer immunity in case of diseases caused by immunodeficiency; capability allowing the composition to act as a catalyser substance promoting digestion; capability allowing to regulate blood pressure, improve the bowels action due to bifidobacteria and other efficient flora production increase.
EFFECT: properties are supplemented with astaxanthin carotenoid properties to enhance vision acuity and improve other physiological properties of the organism.
