FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. Disclosed is a method of creating lines of soft wheat which are resistant to brown rust, involving crossing of a commercial grade of soft wheat with the hybrid line 21-4, which contains a new gene LrN21, self-pollination of first-generation hybrids F1 to obtain second-generation hybrids F2, among which, through a molecular PCR-marker 34vrn5b and cytologic DNA markers p8 c119.2 and Speltl, plants which contain the resistant gene LrN21 are selected, repeated self-pollination of the selected plants to obtain generation F3 plants and testing the latter for brown rust resistance in field conditions.
EFFECT: invention enables to select plants which contain the resistance gene LrN21 without conducting field tests and cut the time for creating resistant lines of soft wheat.
