FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a manufacturing device of molten metal by direct reduction and melting of base material in the form of metal containing agglomerate, for example agglomerate from metal oxide with carbon-containing material, in a melting furnace with electric heating, for example of an arc furnace, without any preliminary reduction. At discharging from chutes (4, 4) on both edges (2, 2) of a non-inclined vertically standing arc furnace there created are base material layers (12) that have down coming inclined surface to areas of electrodes (5) located in the furnace central area, and base material layers (13) in the form of metal-containing agglomerate in inclined sections respectively. Molten metal is obtained by gradual melting of lower edges of layers (13) due to heating by means of electric arcs occurring on electrodes (5). Device is equipped with a shock generator that provides mechanical elimination of plugging of base material layer in the form of metal-containing agglomerate and is installed in the furnace above the molten slag layer and below surface of base material layer in the form of metal-containing agglomerate.

EFFECT: invention allows effective prevention of plugging of base material layer in the form of metal-containing agglomerate and reliable elimination of plugging, if any.
