FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of ionising radiation particles, particularly to scintillation detectors based on plastic or crystalline scintillators, in which spectrum-shifting fibres are used to output radiation. The scintillation detector has a working volume with specular or diffusely reflecting walls, filled with a scintillation plastic or crystalline scintillator, spectrum-shifting fibres passing inside the working volume, a photodetector with which the ends of the fibres are mated, wherein the scintillator used is in form of granules filling the working volume.
EFFECT: simple technique of making scintillators for scintillation detectors based thereon.
