FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to medical diagnostics, and describes a method for prediction of a survival rate in the patients suffering liver metastases of colorectal cancer after a partial hepatectomy. The method involves studying tumour biopsy material of the liver after the partial hepatectomy by immune histochemical test and analysing the tumour microenvironment characteristics, including a stroma area, a lymphocytic infiltration area (if any), a quantity of vessels (if any) with smooth muscle actin in the vascular wall in the tumour stroma of a liver metastasis in three fields of microscope; the fields are specified according to highest-grade possible immune histochemical test, and if observing the stroma area of 50% and more of total visual field area, the lymphocytic infiltration area of 50% and more of the stroma area accompanied by the vessels with adequately developed smooth muscles in the vascular wall in at least two fields, the patient is grouped as having a favourable prognosis of the overall survival, while the stroma area of less than 25% of the total visual field area, the absence of the lymphocytic infiltration or its area of less than 10% of the stroma area and the absence of the vessels with smooth muscle actin in the tumour stroma of the liver metastasis in at least fields, the patient is predicted to have an unfavourable prognosis.

EFFECT: method provides the more accurate prediction of the overall survival after the partial hepatectomy for metastatic colorectal cancer and can be used in surgery and oncology.
