SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a diesel fuel composition, comprising obtaining a quaternary ammonium compound by reacting (a) a cyclic tertiary amine, containing less than 19 carbon atoms, which is an N-alkyl-heterocycle selected from pyrrolidine, piperidine, morpholine, piperazine, pyrrole, imidazole and dihydropyrrol, with (b) epoxide, selected from ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, butylene oxide, pentylene oxide, hexylene oxide, heptylene oxide and glycidyl ethers, in the presence of (c) carboxylic acid of formula R5COOH, where R5 is CHR11CHR12COOR13, where one of R11 and R12 is hydrogen and the other is a polyisobutenyl group or an optionally substituted alkyl or alkenyl group, having 6 to 50 carbon atoms, and R13 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl group; and mixing quaternary ammonium compound with fuel.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining a new composition which improves operational characteristics of a diesel engine.
