FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved diesel fuel composition which improves operational characteristics of a diesel engine during combustion in an engine. Proposed diesel fuel composition contains one or more quaternary ammonium salts, having the following formula:

where each of R1, R2, R3 and R4 is independently selected from an unsubstituted alkyl group and a hydroxyalkyl group containing less than 8 carbon atoms, and R5 represents hydrogen or an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group. When combusting in a diesel engine with a fuel injection system at pressure higher than 1350 bar (1.35⋅108 Pa), composition leads to considerable reduction of intensity of formation of deposits in nozzles of the engine, in particular, on injector nozzle and nozzle tip, as well as on fuel filter, which contributes to maintenance of purity and cleaning of engine.

EFFECT: specified advantages allow improving efficiency of fuel combustion, reducing noise and fuel consumption.
