APPLICATOR AND MICROWAVE COAGULATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B18/12 A61N5/02 A61B18/18 A61B17/34 A61M25/01

Abstract RU 2562287 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electromagnetic emission therapy and namely to applicators and systems for electromagnetic energy supply to the point of therapeutic intervention. A microwave applicator comprises an elongated body of the applicator having an inputting end and a connecting end for connection to the source of microwave energy, a line of microwave energy transmission placed inside the applicator body with an outer surface and an inner conductor and an outer conductor, an outer electroconductive bushing continued around the outer surface of the line of microwave energy transmission with a gap to form the outer surface and to ensure space for cooling fluid, a guide bushing, an electroconductive end of the applicator coupled electrically to the inner conductor of the transmission line and a dielectric material placed between the electroconductive bushing and the electroconductive end of the applicator. The second version of the applicator differs by one or more openings for the injection of fluid intended for tissue cooling. The microwave therapy system comprises a microwave generator, a coaxial cable for microwave energy delivery, a microwave applicator, a system controller for control of the system operation and a circuit of microwave power splitter. The second version of the microwave therapy system includes a cooling fluid circulation system additionally. The third version of the microwave therapy system comprises two microwave generators and a system controller to control and coordinate the operation of two generators.

EFFECT: usage of the invention ensures uniform and forecasted profiles for heating and ablation as well as effective cooling of the applicator rods.
