FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in supercharged engines containing turbochargers. An operating method of engine (10) with turbocharger (164, 161, 162) consists in the fact that rotation of the turbocharger is performed in the first direction to increase residence time of exhaust gases of the engine in outlet (48) manifold. Rotation of the turbocharger is performed in the second direction different from the first one to increase torque at the outlet of engine (10) by increasing the air flow supplied to the engine. The invention describes versions of the engine operating method.
EFFECT: reduction of hazardous emissions of the engine.
